Public Art Idea
This 3 tiered mound
can be referred to a mound, a knoll, a tell, or a hill. The structures
below were submitted to be adjacent to a river or an ocean, and can be
suited to any park or public spaces. The physical form becomes a location
point which enables people to sit on, walk, play, read, etc, and is constructed
out of earth, turf and geo-rubber matting. The form becomes a focal point
within an architectural landscape and a point of location and reference.
The scale for a 3 tiered mound through its proportions is 27m long and
20m wide, each level is 1m high with appropriate contours to enable servicing
and maintaining of the mound. Each level is 2 m across. The mound could
have multiple levels, shapes and configurations as well as tree vegetation,
eg deciduous, allowing winter sun, etc.
The below drawings are in their
infancy.
